E-File Shutdown 2025

E-filing for 2025 will shutdown on December 26th. If you need to file taxes after that date, you still can, but they need to be mailed or wait until e-filing opens back up in late January. Penalties and interest will accrue during that time. E-filing being shut down does not pause those.

E-filing is the preferred method of filing your taxes. If you need to mail them, make sure you have a copy of everything you sent and mail it certified, so you have confirmation of when it was mailed and received. That information can assist you regarding getting penalties and interest abated - at least for that period between mailing and processing.
